Nickelodeon has renewed “Instant Mom” for a second season, ordering 20 new episodes of the Tia Mowry-Hardrict-starrer for Nick at Nite and NickMom.
Cabler has also ordered an additional six segs to be tacked onto the show’s first run.
Multi-cam family sitcom, which debuted in September, centers on Stephanie (Mowry-Hardrict), a party girl who finds herself parenting three kids when she marries Charlie.
In addition to airing on Nick at Nite on Sundays, Nickelodeon also airs “Instant Mom” on Nick Jr.’s NickMom, the kid cabler’s new primetime adult-targeted comedy block.
“In just a couple months since its debut, ‘Instant Mom’ has resonated remarkably well with the Nick at Nite and NickMom audiences,” said Russell Hicks, Nick’s prez of content development and production. “We’re thrilled to witness its early success alongside ‘See Dad Run’ and families enthusiastic about Tia and an undeniably charismatic cast.”
Howard Michael Gould and Aaron Kaplan serve as exec producers on “Instant Mom.”
